Biography
Proudly born, raised and schooled in Melbourne and subsequently studying Dentistry in New Zealand, I first practised in Broken Hill and Geelong, and then on my return to Melbourne began practise with David in 1988.
Using the many skills honed over many years of continued and vigorous study, enables us to provide our patients with an informed range of options that allow them to decide on the treatment plan that suits them best to produce the beautiful smiles we all desire. Offering the vast array of dental treatments that we do, most commonly means that patients do not require referral to other specialties, thus making us more of a one stop shop. We cater for the entire range of dental services including whitening, smile makeovers, dental implants, gum and periodontal treatment.
A laser user since 2010, I am able to complete most restorative dentistry with little to no anaesthetic, perform single visit root fillings, non-surgical periodontal treatments and treat snoring with the unique NightLase laser snoring procedure.
I am an educator and International speaker and train local and overseas dentists in the use of the lasers for dental treatments.
I have completed an International Master’s Degree in Laser Dentistry at Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Roma after having completed over 200 hours of laser training at the prestigious Laser Aesthetic & Health Academy in Slovenia.

Dr. James B. is a distinguished aesthetic dentist who embarked on his journey in dentistry at La Trobe University in Bendigo, Australia, where he completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Dentistry) followed by a Master of Dentistry. His passion for enhancing not just smiles but overall facial aesthetics has driven him to specialize in dento-facial aesthetics, taking a holistic approach to patient care that considers both dental health and facial harmony.
Education and Continuous Learning: Dr. James B.’s commitment to excellence is demonstrated through his continuous pursuit of education. Beyond his foundational degrees, he has completed a post-graduate diploma in orthodontics and clear aligners, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry with the prestigious ACDP. His dedication to staying at the forefront of dental techniques and technologies is evident in his regular participation in webinars, CPD lectures, and his role as a Key Opinion Leader for KavoKerr and SDI, where he shares his expertise on composite bonding and veneers.

Dr. James B. has a passion for dento-facial aeshtetics and has furthered his education in both cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics allowing him to take a wholistic approach to his patinets deno-facial aeshtetic needs from both a dental perspective as well as a facial aesthetic perspective
Dr. James B. loves to use technology and he incorporates this into his dentistry; from 3D scanning and printing to Digital Smile designs. Dr James B. believes that the use of advanced technology allows him to provide a more pleasant and comfortable experience to all of his patients.

Dr. James B continues to study, regularly attending webinars, CPD lectures and has also completed a post-graduate diploma in orthodontics and clear aligners, as well as a post graduate diploma in Aesthetic and restorative dentistry with the ACDP. Biography
She is originally from Adelaide, SA where she graduated in 1998, with a Diploma of Dental Hygiene.
Karen initially worked in general private practice and an unique unit within the Adelaide Dental Hospital which included treating periodontal disease, systemic disease and associated pathology, and with a facility to treat patients with special needs.
During her time there she encouraged her holistic focus and approach to dentistry. Being continually challenged to think more broadly about the situations that were presenting, adapt my clinical skills, and improve her means of communication to be more effective.
She then travelled, working and living in Switzerland. Her work in a private practice further refined her communication skills with both a new language and way of life to adapt to, before returning to Australia and moving to Melbourne in 2007.
After marriage, a couple of marathons and a couple of children, she found herself still loving dentistry. People describe her as an enthusiastic and empathetic person who will always try and look for answers. She truly enjoys her role in equipping people with the necessary skills and information that empowers them to make changes to improve themselves, and to take ownership of their own health.
She recently embarked on further study in Oro-facial Myology which is further educating her in a more holistic approach and understanding of how the different areas of our body operate and interact. Stay tuned!

I have been to quite a few dental clinics in my lifetime and can admit to being fussy at times, however at last I can finally say ive found a clinic that I would be more than happy to go back too. My experience with Dr James B was phenomenal, I was treated with care, respect and professionalism. Ive been to plenty of dentists before and its simply been a chore for both me and them (I wont name names), giving no real reason to go back to the same dentist. Dr James has been the first dentist to show an interest in me as a patient and as a person, taking me through every step of the plan and procedure I had to undergo.

Amazing cosmetic dental practice, couldn't ask for more! Dream smile and lips achieved
After my MCHN suspected the cause of my son's breastfeeding issues was a tongue and upper lip tie, I went to see Dr. Philip Hand. He was one of the more reasonably priced dentists for this procedure. He was very friendly and put me at ease right away. He took the time to examine my son thoroughly and had a great manner with him. He obviously does his job properly and is not just out to get money, as he told me that neither tie was significant enough to warrant cutting. He noticed tightness around his facial muscles, though, and referred me to an oesteopath who has managed to solve the issue. This dentist knows his stuff, is friendly, and if it hadn't been for him, my son would not be feeding properly. Highly recommend him.
