These areas are known as the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and downward facing oral commissures that surround your smile and cosmetic treatments often come in the form of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler.
Dr. James B received the training to perform these procedures through the Australiasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA). Dentists are highly experienced when it comes to technique, injections, oral and facial anatomy and the natural skills that are required to provide these services.
Anti-wrinkle injections
Facial wrinkles are part of the natural ageing process as our skin becomes thinner and loses firmness and elasticity. Facial movements such as squinting or frowning or even just smiling or eating can result in creases and fine lines over time. These problems become more noticeable as we get older.
Wrinkle relaxing treatments are performed to relax the facial muscles and reduce ageing signs such as fine lines, wrinkles and expression lines. These non-invasive injectable therapies are designed to paralyse the facial muscle for up to six months. The injections can be repeated every few months to keep you looking your best.

Dermal Fillers
As people age, volume is lost as collagen and the fat pads dissipate, forming deep folds and/or wrinkles in your face. Dermal filler therapy restores the lost volume in the soft tissues. Dermal treatments are primarily used for the nasolabial folds, the oral commissures, lips, chin and the marionette lines, these are the areas that frame your smile
Fillers are not a permanent solution. How long they last depends on things such as the type of filler and where it’s injected. On average they usually last between 6 and 18 months.
Most dermal fillers used in the industry contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.
Afterwards
The affected area may be a bit red, sore and swollen. Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days.
You should be advised about what to do to help reduce the risk of side effects.
This includes not wearing make-up immediately after the procedure and avoiding alcohol, coffee and the sun.
What does the procedure look like?
An anaesthetic cream or local anaesthetic might be used first to numb your skin and make sure you don’t feel a thing.
The treatment usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

After my MCHN suspected the cause of my son's breastfeeding issues was a tongue and upper lip tie, I went to see Dr. Philip Hand. He was one of the more reasonably priced dentists for this procedure. He was very friendly and put me at ease right away. He took the time to examine my son thoroughly and had a great manner with him. He obviously does his job properly and is not just out to get money, as he told me that neither tie was significant enough to warrant cutting. He noticed tightness around his facial muscles, though, and referred me to an oesteopath who has managed to solve the issue. This dentist knows his stuff, is friendly, and if it hadn't been for him, my son would not be feeding properly. Highly recommend him.
