About Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening treatments can brighten and freshen your smile and remove years of stains, providing you with a younger, rejuvenated smile. At Aesthetic Laser Dentistry, we offer both in-chair and take-home whitening procedures.
Teeth whitening works by applying a whitening gel, containing the active ingredient hydrogen peroxide, over the teeth. The bleach is able to penetrate through the enamel, breaking apart the staining agents through an oxidation reaction
Premium results, affordable prices
With professional teeth whitening, your dentist will use a stronger bleaching agent and can remove stains from tooth enamel and lighten the colour of the underlying dentin. They’ll also monitor each stage of the process and protect your mouth from damage.
As well as a procedure in the dental chair, professional whitening can also be carried out with prescription customised whitening trays for use at home.

Check-up and clean
Regular maintenance is the key to a healthy mouth. It’s a good idea to have a general check-up and clean of your teeth and gums as part of your whitening assessment, and we arrange additional bleaching trays at this appointment too.
A periodical check up and clean saves time and stress in the long run by diagnosing and treating dental problems before they become more serious. 6 monthly dental visits are recommended for a detailed examination and thorough clean of your teeth.
This approach reduces the cost of dental treatment in the long run.
In chair Whitening
A whitening assessment must be done to see if you are suitable for whitening and we will provide you with options that best suit you.
The in chair whitening takes approximately 1.5 – 2 hours and is done in one appointment.
Further maintenance of your whitening can be achieved with the take home whitening kits.
DIY at home
Our take home whitening kits are convenient to use and provide you with the flexibility to whiten at your own pace. The DIY kits are perfect for maintaining your white teeth after you’ve had an in-chair whitening appointment, or if you want to whiten your teeth over a longer period of time.
A whitening assessment must be done to see if you are suitable for whitening. We will then take impressions of your teeth and prepare customised trays for you.
When they are ready to be picked up, we will show you how to fit them in and how to use the bleaching agent.
We give out different bleaching agent options including:
Day kits:
– 20 minutes during the day
– 60 minutes during the day
Night kits:
– To be worn overnight
For best results we recommend wearing your trays for 7-10 days consecutively, with a days’ break in between if it starts to get too sensitive.

I have been to quite a few dental clinics in my lifetime and can admit to being fussy at times, however at last I can finally say ive found a clinic that I would be more than happy to go back too. My experience with Dr James B was phenomenal, I was treated with care, respect and professionalism. After my MCHN suspected the cause of my son's breastfeeding issues was a tongue and upper lip tie, I went to see Dr. Philip Hand. He was one of the more reasonably priced dentists for this procedure. He was very friendly and put me at ease right away. He took the time to examine my son thoroughly and had a great manner with him. He obviously does his job properly and is not just out to get money, as he told me that neither tie was significant enough to warrant cutting. He noticed tightness around his facial muscles, though, and referred me to an oesteopath who has managed to solve the issue. This dentist knows his stuff, is friendly, and if it hadn't been for him, my son would not be feeding properly. Highly recommend him.
